Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Yes.
-
can you choose manual or automatic or all new recruits are set up in automatics? thanks
-
Last I knew all their trucks were 9 speed manuals. They like the resale value.
-
Call their toll free number and ask.
-
Most of the schools I talked to the past couple of weeks wants to train you in a manual which once you get some seat time and be in some winter weather you will like the extra control
-
Generally you are issued a truck and told to get going, yer late.
There is no thanking needed here. You get what you get. If you are lucky you got a Manual. It's easier to learn than a auto. -
if you are asking this as in going to stevens to get your CDL, then frankly, in some states, maybe all by now, you WILL GET a restriction on your CDL for automatics only.
so what will you do, when, NOT IF, BUT WHEN you and stevens part ways and you need a job, but all that is available are manual shift jobs?
you really ought to consider your limitations with an automatic restriction.

Orlandodriver, Brickwall and mitrucker Thank this. -
I get this mailer from stevens
Drive a 2018 automatic and Get PAID CDL TRAINING at Stevens Transport!
So can anyone clarify
do students
get a choice, get whatever is available, or get training in manual regardless
thanks -
.30 cpm starting pay for a student going solo is the lowest pay I came across in the Dallas area, and I pretty much contacted ALL of them. Swift would be a better option if you must train with a mega (.37 cpm) assuming an academy is available in your area. Oh, not to be 100% off topic, Swift trains exclusively on manual. So I was told. Good luck.
