MEXICAN TRUCKS HERE SEPT 1st

"...Why would there be such a [anti-NAU] bill (H.J.R. 40) in the U.S. House of Representatives?" I admit it: I "goofed". The actual anti-NAU bill in the U.S. House is H. Con. Res. 40, not H.J.R. 40 as I stated. Otherwise, "that's my story, an' I'm stickin' to it"...!

 

ok I'm new to the trucking world and this doesn't sound to good to me. First I don't understand half of whats being said but I have made myself a list of stuff to research later. Living here in Texas I can say first hand that I have seen a lot of my friends lose their jobs because of people from Mexico comeing in and doing the job for half the cost. I've also seen what were once good companies get introuble for hiring illegals to do jobs and paying them cash so no taxes, workmans comp and such would be paid. We sold our home a few years ago because a mexican family had bought the house next door, it was in the country so it was about 400yards from us. The were really nice folks and we became friends. about 6 months later their parents moved in with them which was fine. A few weeks later some more relatives moved in. Within a year there were 17 people living in that house! The yard was kept clean but it stayed crowded with cars, trucks, and bycicles all the time, just very cluttered. Then came the animals! We were in the country but it was a subdivision so most people had a dog, cat, maybe a horse. Next thing I knew it looked like a petting zoo next door. There were goats staked out in the yard, chickens running around, which seemed to take a liking to out garage for some reason!, and even some ginnies. Have you ever heard the racket those things can make. Well ended up selling our house which we bought for $190,000 almost 6 years earlier. It had been apprasied at $285,000 before the people moved in but we were only able to get $255,000 for it! I had invested over $60,000 in remodeling the house and adding a 30x40 shop but I was only able to sell for $65,000 above my original purchase price. After living in the house for 6 years and all the updating which included new hardwood floors, tile floors, all new cabenets in the kitchen and 3 baths, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, and a shop with a lift just mention a few I should have gooten better than that. Realestate had gone up like crazy everywhere over those years but the subdivision had suffered because of that one house. Now they were still really nice folks and as much as I wanted to be mad at them I couldn't but it was because of them.

I agree and disagree about the borders being there to keep people out. They are there to limit access to the US by Mexico or Canada just as it is to limit our access to their countries. We have to know how many people have entered the US and if they have exited it or not. Problem is they don't work when you have people sneaking accross the bourder . If we don't know if they have left or not then there is not much way to keep them from staying here and working illegaly.

I hope this all works out and we don't lose any more jobs than we have already lost. We'll just have to see what Obama does. I didn't vote for him but he's in there now so I just hope he does a good job and doesn't give us the shaft, especially since I'm just starting in this career. It would really suck if it all went away just when I'm getting started. I'll just add it to the list of prayers I already have for our country.

 

Fortunately the formation of the "North American Union" has been "put on the back burner" - at least for now - because of its massive exposure by the JBS, which mailed over a million copies of the special "North American Union" issue of the New American magazine to public officials at the state and local levels. (I posted the link to a *.pdf copy of that full issue twice before in this thread.)

During his 2008 campaign, President-elect Obama stated that "immigration reform" is one of his "top priorities". This would primarily entail a blanket "guest worker" amnesty program to give all the "undocumented workers" a "path to citizenship". (That way none of them will be illegal anymore, and they'll be able to vote for whomever will give them the most government benefits.) In public speeches to La Raza and LULAC Obama has vowed to issue an executive order to end the Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids on businesses that employ illegal aliens, too. I believe him, but we'll see...
