Those vans don't log. They also have lower cost of operating. It pays good if they can get another load, but they sit alot. It is sink or swim. Alot of expediters took a hit in the auto industry recently along with alot of the truck load carriers.

I would not be surprised to find the answer is no.

I have seen many of the vans with no signs.

I have a friend who is talking with a company in a state in the Midwest. They have been doing this for over 10 years. They pay the driver as an independent contractor with a lease. No authority, or signs. No commercial insurance.

Next time you are out, look for them. They are easy to spot.

This is something we are going to do part time not on a regular basis. We used our 04 montana mini van, it gets pretty good gas milage. He said he would use us again but I wanted to know more about the rates. I dont mind him making money setting up the deals but I dont want to come out on the short end. He doesn want to make the runs (kinda lazy) so he would pay more so he would not have to do it.
    Thanks for all the replys.

It sounds like he dosen't do this for a living just a friend wanted him to "run" something.

    I could be wrong though.

Well lets see here. The item weighed 15 lbs. you could throw that in a compact car, that gets 30 MPG and make out pretty good. sounds like there are a lot of dreamers on this site. $3.a mile plus a surcharge, comon man get real here. I realize fuel is still high, but your costs are a way over the line. And oh yeah I used to be an Owner Operator,so I know a little about the cost of freight. At the fuel prices right now ,even running a big rig about $1.25 a mile would make you a little profit.

You came an asked our opinion, you can say we are dreaming all you want:biggrin_25516:. The fact of the matter is the price I gave you would be the price that the company I'm leased to would quote you if you called them and asked to have that package delivered:yes2557: .

And no we do not do compact cars.:biggrin_25512:

Don't tell us to get real and come on man:biggrin_25512: just because you can't get the prices we are getting.:yes2557:
