I'll be moving that way and changing form of employment soon, unfortunately I can't make heads or tails of the options.

Swift sounds like they don't train well at all, if I'm going to work a difficult job I want them to at least train me well!

Schneder used to have a good name, I talked with a recruiter once years ago and had to wash the horse s#it off my shoes afterwards.

Roehl sounded excellent, just not in the area!

I'm 39 and have been driving class c work for most of my life, currently limousines, as well as personal pickup and trailer as close to 26k as I can get, not at all worried about learning the job, just need to be able to deal with a corporation for 6 months.

If I stay on long term a favoribile pet policy is mandatory, I have a 40lb black lab who will stay with me, however I'd like to look into part time, 7/7, 14/14, 7/14, 14/7 at some point, or being an o/o with an older paid for truck so I can go out when I want to or when freight is heavy and return when it slows.

Sorry for the long post, I probably missed some details anyway.

Being in Spokane does limit you some.
Here's some with cdl school & pet policy:
    Prime Inc.
    Jim Palmer Trucking
Both of these companies have really nice trucks, set up for driver comfort. They also have APU (Auxillary Power Unit) which is used when parked and not allowed to idle the truck engine. APU is similar to an RV power unit you may have seen on RV's running when they're parked. They provide power for air-conditioning/heat, electrical power for computer, X-box, refrigerator, television, etc. Your pet will be comfortable also during those 10 hour breaks when you aren't allowed to idle the truck engine.
Both Prime Inc. and Jim Palmer Trucking pay new drivers really well.

If you can get your CDL through a local votech school, System Transport (Spokane) has an apprentice program with tuition reimbursement.

It’s always been my preference to work where you live. Orientation is easier, no car parked at a terminal hundreds of miles away, no wondering where you’re going to park on your home time.

That being said, I’m not sure what Systems offers for training, but they have 3 companies under their umbrella. You also have VCT and Western around Spokane if you don’t want to go OTR.

Also the company that owns Jim Palmer out of Missoula owns Haney out of Yakima now. So maybe that would be an option too.

Also might look at Decker Truck Line. The have a terminal in Missoula and train if you bring your CDL and schooled at an authorized facility

Spokane nearest spot would be Seattle
