Are there any Australian truckers on the board?

you dont like the states? whats the work like is it good coin?

 

Unfortunatly I also have two trucks here ####! the things you do for hmmm anyway on wards and upwards. Is it worth looking at the usa still or not as it still hard to get visa's. I wouldn't mind Canada as I can probably get visa easier as grandparents imergrated from there.

I like the U.S. The people are great. But it's Xmas and i missin the sun. Can't get used to a cold Xmas...I drove small trucks back home but have only just got my CDL here. I've been offered 3 jobs allready. The money isn't that great for a rookie like me but i have to start somewhere. I'll start on 39c a mile. They reckon i'll get 2500- 3000 miles a week. I've been in construction for most of my life, but it's dead right now. So i thought it would be a good time to do something i've allways been interested in. Al

 

There are plenty of jobs running across the border so i can't see there being much differance in pay rates between the U.S and Canada. You might be able to get a U.S company to sponsor you (hb1 visa)

 

I hope to get over to canada in 09 if not I'll head back to Aussie but I'll have to try and sell my trucks here first.

My sights are firmly set on the U S and A..

Once i know whats going on, i will get my truck up for sale and book my airline tickets..... I cant wait to blow this dustbowl.

 

HB1. visa = employer sponsors you. I think it's for 2 years and then you can apply for perm residency.
