Never advice to buy Volvo....bought VNL 2018....breaks squeaking...rim get hot quickly...consuming 5 gallons of oil in average 20,000.00 miles....been complaining to Volvo top management for the last 9 months ( since I bought it).....No care....lost more than 15 days in giving truck to shop.....Volvo kept me busy in filling providing different data......
Bottom line: never buy Volvo...seems they are falling down.....

You bought a Volvo, what do you expect?

The last company that I worked for purchased seven Volvo CNG day cabs.
One of them burned to the ground within the first year. The rest of the trucks were parked for over a year while the investigation proceeded. The company insisted that the exhaust system design was to blame, but Volvo did not agree. Lawyers were involved. Tests were done. Exhaust system was deemed safe and guaranteed by Volvo. Volvo refused to warranty the burned truck.
Trucks were put back on the road.
Within 9 months, a burn hole in a fiberglas trim piece was discovered during a post trip inspection in one of the trucks adjacent to an exhaust joint. Trucks were again deadlined.
Investigation revealed that the contractor that installed the exhaust systems did it improperly, and that the entire exhaust system design was faulty.
Trucks were out of service for another year.
Trucks were put back in service after modifications were made. Not sure if Volvo made good on the warranty claim for the burned truck, or if company was compensated for the trucks' down time. -
