ELD's use the same HOS. Pffth big deal.

What will happen instead is this.

You can drive 11 hours today. YAY. But nope. I'll drive just 8 and park where there is parking for the night sometime in the early afternoon.

The USA will engage in a grotesque game of musical chairs in terms of non reserved or paid parking... every day.

I dunno I'm more concerned with increased highway traffic. Seems awfully populated like crazy.

Depends on which end of the stick you are on... Not all auto parts are the same... That Dana load I hauled 38 miles with wait time was a weeks pay for most drivers hauling the same parts. ;-)

I arrived early to a customer in a crappy neighborhood near Louisville. Their gate was closed and I decided to drive over my HOS instead of stay the night there. I went back on duty with a note on why I drove off and I didn't get in trouble with Safety.

Maybe I would have gotten some grief on the random chance I encountered a cop. It did ironically throw off my delivery making me late since I restarted a 10, but it sucks for them they live in a ####ty neighborhood.

The point is what if the driver had 5 hours good toward a 10 hour break at the customer then gets kicked out after loading, then has to start a brand new 10 hour break over again, carries a violation plus a total 15 hour break.

I said it before, be prepared for max 1800 mile weeks....

THIS X 1,000,000. that's exactly what i'm talking about. nobody is going to give two bits about a driver and his break, or his hours left. they'll say move and move now or get banned / towed / fired / arrested. after having taken their sweet time to unload them while the drivers clock has been ticking down. they get paid by the hour, they get paid the same if they work or don't. then you get to roll out the customer gate having broken your 10 hour break at 8 hours and 43 minutes and be a danger / at fault / scrambling to find a safe place to put the rig and sweating for the next week that nobody asks to see your logs.

    I’ve
    I’ve
been on electronic logs for 2 companies for 15 years...yes; a few times I’ve had problems at shippers and receivers, but I’ve always been able to work something out.. and still be legal.. it’s possible if you are professional and not confrontational about it...

I’m more concerned with the poor training you people are getting from the megas than I am ELD’s..

Racing thru a fuel stop parking lot playing beat the clock is highly dangerous though.

    enjoy your elogs..
