Hey, I don't have enough posts to PM you. Did I read this right, you've been running the new X15 for 3 years now? How many miles have you ran them, and how are they doing? Are they dependable? I have been running pre EPA CATs or converted CATs for awhile now, so I have NO experience with the Cummins engines. Im going to be buying a truck soon and am thinking about this engine. Info you have on them would be helpful.
You can P.M. me if you want.

You have read correctly. I have sent you a pm. Our miles have varied from less than 50,000 miles on an engine to over 300,000 miles on an engine in one year. The engines are doing good, the trucks on the other hand vary.

Just finished my first 2 weeks with my 2018 International LT, X15 Efficiency 500/1850, 13 speed Ultrashift Plus Advantage. 7mpg average pulling Vans and Reefers between Calgary/Edmonton and Vancouver. The engine is amazing and drives like a dream, the Eaton is much improved, a little quirky, but you get used to it (its no DT12 tho). Overall I expect this to be a great truck, and so far the issues I had with Prostars don't seem to be issues on the LT.

Also, I was a bit surprised there is no Wet Tank on these trucks with the X15? I read the manuals and asked 2 dealers, and they said there isn't one. That the Wet Tank has been replaced by some fancy A2S Bendix Air Dryer, and that you only have to drain the 2 supply tanks on the driver side, under the battery access door. I find that pretty interesting.

When I bought my truck, used, the dealer said you don't see many 600 hp engines because the warranty from 550-600 doubles.

The price of buying the 605 hp vs the 565hp is 4000 dollars, after the warranty runs out Peterbilt Steve says you can uprate to 605hp for a couple hundred dollars. The higher torque package, 2050 is no where near that much money

You don't want to keep any of these new engines until the warranty runs out, LOL.

    Just 605?

Im watching video of german tanks running about with 1000 horse deisel engines that sounds really nice shoving 65 ton in the mud...

Why cannot we have that kind of power god only knows 605 is weak relatively speaking. Almost as if the Nation is determined not to let truckers have enough beef for the mountains.

Update please. Anyone with 300,000+ miles on these engines? How do they hold up?

They have 450hp for sale with 320k miles down the road from me, at $85,000 with an APU and I've hear they've done some major improvments on these newer X15s. Am i wrong?
