Well I stopped here in PA at a service plaza for lunch on my way to Aberdeen. Was listening to the radio, turned the truck off, then tried to immediately start the truck... no worky-worky! No beeping. No testing. Nothing. But my lights work. The ignition does nothing. Tried fiddling with cables to see if anything is loose, tried to see if there is some sort of fuse associated with it. Can’t find a bad fuse. I have new batteries and a new starter in the past 3 months. Now I wait for someone more mechanically inclined than me to show up in a truck and take a look. Won’t be able to deliver tonight (I’ve already been waiting for hours... the road conditions are pretty bad right now anyway).

I have this overwhelming hunch that he’s gonna be here for 60 seconds and fix it and make me feel stupid.

The OTR support from the shop was good as usual. “Try this... try this... ok I’ll send someone out. Sit tight.”

Hopefully youre back up and running soon. I gotta call the shop and see if its on their system yet and where they want me to get it fixed. I scored a good run finally so hopefully this is a simple and quick fix.

I wonder why they are ditching the tails.

    • They will still get mpg similar to the tails with this passive set up.
    • Less likely to break or back into something.
    • No latches to freeze or wings to collect snow.
    • Less hassle for drivers.
    • Some drivers never opened the tails anyway.

Woobie, Lowlite, mattbh23 and 4 others Thank this.

I hope these are being added to the trailer pool not just replacements. What type of refer units are they going to put on them?
