If you ate willing to try flat deck give Contrans a call, the only thing is they won’t send drivers to the states until they have a year under their belt. Up to 6 weeks paid training and no contract. They may want to sign you up for the apprenticeship program. They put you on full rate after 6 months but its usually sooner if your doing well.

How do I get a HazMat endorsement?
-
It's up to the company you work for to provide training and to issue a Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate.upnorthwpg and Phenomenal Thank this. -
I looked it up on the interwebz and like you said, companies in Canada can provide the training. But what if you are self-employed or not employed yet? Well, Red Cross offers a course for $35 and you get the certificate. I'm going to call them tomorrow and get enrolled, then when I'm employed by a carrier that requires it I'll tell them that I am already certified and I'll ask for a reimbursement. Plus I can add it to my resume. Oh, it's also recognized by DOT in the States. -
It's usually done as part of the orientation process.
Question: Are training certificates transferable from one company to another?
Answer: No. Training certificates are NOT transferable. Once an employee has been adequately trained, it's the responsibility of his/her employer to issue the training certificate. If an individual works for more than one company at the same time, the person should have more than one training certificates.

I was on the ontruck.org website last week researching carriers to apply to and now this week the directory of Ontario carriers is GONE
Is it just me ......because sometimes it comes back as a "database error" when I try and pull up the page.
