That's exactly right. It is really common on Priuses (Priuii?) because the hybrid regenation does almost all of the normal braking so the pads never wear out. If you don't periodically lube the pins on sliding calipers, they drag.

The Tundra's brake problems were because Toyota cheaped out and used small T100 brakes on the larger 2000-2002 Tundra. They made the brakes a little bigger in 2003 and a lot bigger on the next generation.

 

True. BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, and others are buildng their stuff here. While the “american” companies are building cars overseas or in Mexico.

 

Toyota has done a great job of keeping the frame issue quiet!!! But I see truck loads of frames daily.

 

Brother was on a buy American kick years back . Had bought couple John Deere tractors , JD brand bush hogs, a Caddie and a Ford truck . Was talking poop to me about buying a VW . Got tried of it told him lets go for a walk , only one made here was the VW. Caddie was made in Canada, tractors and truck Mexico, and the cutters Brazil .
