Am I wrong to assume that everyone in this discussion is ELD/AOBRD exempt? Our XRS system records everything for us and you can file your IFTA with literally the click of a button, that is IF you also log all your fuel stops, gal purchased, religiously.

Some of my guys miss recording a fuel stop now and then so we always have to double check our monthly statement to compare.

THAT'S what I tried to bring up a driver's meeting. Some clown from safety who only drove the fedex bread truck, never a combination, didn't answer the question. If these things are so great, why am I doing it old school with a paper and pen??? The stupid ELD should/does know when I cross the line. I heard a rumbling that it cost a couple $$ for it to have that so they don't want to spend the money to monitor, just have me out there like a tijuana taxi driver on crack trying to write this crap down.

Just one of the many benefits that we have "with" the ELD, aside from truck tracking, GPS, instant fuel mileage for the fleet, and the aspect of being able to compare all of the drivers numbers, if you have someone that has higher habitual numbers than everyone else, it COULD be an indication of a problem, Not saying it is a cure all, and no I don't like managing from behind a desk, but the system has a lot of pluses.
