Haha I don't think most of the tax on fuel is going to the highways much less anything else that's supposed to.

I imagine you’d need your fifth wheel slid WAY up to get 20k on a steer.

I recall driving tandem dump trucks grossed to 65k back when that was legal here, and those would put only around 14k to the ground on the steer.

I’ve got the new truck speced with the fifth wheel just behind the drop axle, I don’t remember the exact spot but I’ve got it diagramed.

Awesome. I came across a guy one time that had a double drop stretch he ordered new and it was a 132" swing. 10' mechanical detach with 4' flipneck. Anyways his truck was a 389 with 315" w.b. and 60" spacings on the tridem. He said he needed all of that to get 20k on his steer.

With your main neck at a 96" swing your trailer would be 52' with the flat deck in it unless you have 60" axle spacings to be at 53'...you have 60" spacings on trailer? With you saying you have a 18" deck height then you have the vertical pin versus horizontal for a pin joint, huh? Sounds like it will be a nice setup

Nope, horizontal pin joint, 50” spacings on the tri axle, 51’ overall length.

I had no clue Trail King would do a horizontal connection with a 12" beam at that capacity. Actually I can't recall ever seeing a 12" beam with a horizontal connection, but in my opinion its the best connection to have like your doing it.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
