Old job was a good job. I left due to factors not related to trucking. Returning at the end of the month. My choices in trucks:
10-speed International
13-speed Freightliner
auto- Freightliner
Any of the three choices would be less than 3 years old, less than 400k. I took the Auto Freightliner. It is the right tool for the job for OTR trucking.
The company is also starting a drive cam program on a test basis. I told my company I would volunteer to have one installed in my truck. I had one before at another company, feel like it will protect me more than cause a problem given the fact that truck driving is a front row seat to the stupid show.
Returning to an old job, I just requested an automatic and drive cam.

An inward facing camera never helps or protects a driver.
We all look at our phone when it beeps or chimes a tweet or weather alert or text. (Except me, I never look at it)Highway Sailor, Rugerfan, misterG and 3 others Thank this. -
a company drive cam protects the company and the company alone.
YOUR drive cam protects you.
Any company will throw you under the bus in a NY minute if it would protect them. Protect yourself. YOUR drive cam, YOUR records, YOUR lawyer.
