Old job was a good job. I left due to factors not related to trucking. Returning at the end of the month. My choices in trucks:

    10-speed International
    13-speed Freightliner
    auto- Freightliner

Any of the three choices would be less than 3 years old, less than 400k. I took the Auto Freightliner. It is the right tool for the job for OTR trucking.

The company is also starting a drive cam program on a test basis. I told my company I would volunteer to have one installed in my truck. I had one before at another company, feel like it will protect me more than cause a problem given the fact that truck driving is a front row seat to the stupid show.

Your first choice explains your second one.

Yes, well put. As I explained abut the first choice an auto is the right tool for the job and so is a drive cam.

Forward or backward facing? In today's world with the idiots we have to deal with on a daily basis a forward facing cam is a necessity. Backwards facing is used by companies that like to micromanage and is just as likely to incriminate as it is to exonerate you.

Then if you’re in an accident the other lawyer can show the jury on a 60 inch high def tv in slow motion you looking away for a moment.
An inward facing camera never helps or protects a driver.
We all look at our phone when it beeps or chimes a tweet or weather alert or text. (Except me, I never look at it)

a company drive cam protects the company and the company alone.

    YOUR drive cam protects you.

Any company will throw you under the bus in a NY minute if it would protect them. Protect yourself. YOUR drive cam, YOUR records, YOUR lawyer.

Rule #1 of Trucking: COVER YOUR ###
