Considering buying a used daycab after I get a few years of driving company. Should I go Freightliner or International?
What are the cheapest used daycab makes available on the market today?

Cheep?
You'll be sowwy. Good is what you want.
I cannot offer anything other than a good Ford 9000 that turns like a magic...Puppage Thanks this. -
Well if you take everything off a truck that is not made by the truck manufacturer, you only have the carcass of the cab, right ? So put both trucks side by side and compare. With two truck cab carcasses, the only thing to compare is how flush the doors close.

Truck Paper or Heavy Truck Trader would be a good start to get a feel for prices.
A google search would probably yield some useful info, also. -
Cheapest? I would have to say International with a Maxxforce, also know as junkforce. You did ask for cheapest right?
Socal Xpress and AModelCat Thank this. -
Maxforce! Cheap so you can have it in the shop every other week.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
The cheapest is probably an old l9000 with Spring Ride
Maybe $2500 or $3000
If you want something a little nicer an older Freightliner is maybe $4,000 to $8000
That's all cheap but you better have a lot of money and mechanical skill to work them over.
Still better than the new junk, for sure.
Pay $3,000 for an old truck and spend your time working on it, or spend $20,000 for a newer truck and because it's a new piece of junk it'll be broken down more than the old piece of junk. And you probably have to pay someone to work on the newer truck so dig deeper in your pockets..
And if you buy something newer with electronics good luck because you could have one problem that could bankrupt you. The last I checked there was a guy on this forum with an electronic problem that spent $24,000 trying to fix it. No joke. And I think the truck is still having the same problems.
It makes the $3,000 truck look better doesn't it? -
Find the guy selling the absolute lowest price on a POS. Then you can say you got it for cheap.

Go with a International with the Maxxforce engine. There practically free. You can pick one up now just about for nothing and make payments “down the road” to the stealerships.
