thats like asking how long a piece of string is... incomes range from not much to not bad at all...
-
Guys who drive local for them average around $1300 a week and there home every night. -
well, for a long time i have always wondered what it was like to drive down there, and im looking to get some insight from the drivers who actually drive there to fill me on. are he rules as strict as they are in the USA?, what kind of trucks are they running?? do the drivers get paid by the mile? day? how??
my cousin is moving down there, and he wants me to move there with him and i wanna no what its like. -
you think us laws are strict? try batling with our DOT and etc..
We dont have crazy idle laws, but out here you dont need to idle -
Yeh but most people think it is always better somewhere else. I always found it pretty good in Aussie but you won't work as hard anywhere else. As for the gear take your pick from anything from jap to U.S but not many pete's
-
well then tell me/others what your DOT is like, theres plenty here for you read about ours, but thiers none about yours that iv been able to come across yet.
im really starting to consider this... but i dont want to make that kind of move without a lil more insight on what i could be getting myself into..
and no, i dont think its always better other places. i think wev got it OK here, i mean, our DOT can be bad, but they can also cut you a few breaks if they wanted too. i no that doent happen often, but it does. iv seen it happen to me. and a few others. -
we are the enenmy and are always wrong.
we have RTA(dot), police taskforce, normal police, drug squad, ETC all trying to pin us.. guilty until proven innocent.
i know a company that expects $500 in fines every time a vehicle moves.... they actually budget for it.
we have big brother watching our trip times with a system called saftey cam, which records regos of all commercial vehicles traveling our hiways.
up until a couple of months ago, all interstate was overnight. its pushed back some now.. but they still hold trucks back as late as possible.
treated like disposable scum by a lot of companies.
Enforcement of log books is so harsh, that if you misspell a place your going to get a fine, which usually invovles demerit poins off your locence ( only have 12 points for 3 years)
excpected to run heavy and illegal by quite a few companies...
this is a beautiful place to visit and tour, but im ot convinced that it is a great place to live...Last edited by a moderator: Jan 4, 2009
