Intersections and signs, and wrongway turns and crowns on the road and RRXX...whole different set of homework. Grab a couple tallboys and drink em while you’re mapping out the next day’s turns.

When I take a legal load, I feel like I'm on vacation.

Alright, so we’re back at it. Hauling some stack sections from AL to GA. Pretty much doing that all week, done for the day at time of writing. 82’ L and 11’ W.

I’ll post a pic after loading again tomorrow and we can play the what happened right what went wrong game lol. Got from A to B, product stayed on trailer, no one died. I’m gonna call that a good day.

Just wanna say thanks, again, for the folks following and giving advice. If I don’t reply directly it’s not cause I’m blowing you off, it’s probably that idk what to say.

With open deck EVERY load is an opportunity to prove you are a newbie all over again.

I don't get it when some loads won't settle in. You know what I mean. 20 miles, stop, load check, snug stuff up. 60 miles, stop, load check, snug stuff up. 120 miles, stop, load check, snug stuff up. No rhyme or reason for it. Then the next load do the first couple checks and never touch it again except for walk arounds. Open deck is just a constant learning process. In my opinion

Winter is the worst, adding cold, snow or ice sucks. . Anything PVC or plasticky. Skids in boat shrink wrap. Wooden crates that move around. Anything on tires. Anything on wooden blocks. Anything with a lot of small loose parts. Stuff where dunnage can shift or break. Anything steel on steel that wants to walk. Steel reels. Steel wheeled tractors.

    The list is endless.

What are those? I’d take a vacation but can’t bring myself to work for that kind of money. I haven’t done a legal load since the first week of December 2016, & only did that to help out the person who keeps me in the money on the “illegal” loads.

jamespmack, Hegemeister, stwik and 2 others Thank this.
