I stand corrected by wikipedia. It seems it is a opiate, an it has caused an issue over there with the youth who drink it.

    Mitragyna speciosa - Wikipedia

Not that it's always a reliable source, but eh, whatever.

Rocks, can you reccommend any sort of books to read that have been helpful in redirecting your thoughts and changing how you react to them? It's such a work in progress. I am still doing CBT but it is difficult at times to stay positive that sometimes I wonder if I should try a Kratom-type of herb :(..

If you are an OTR trucker, would you feel comfortable if the guy in the left lane next to you passing was taking Kratom? Just wondering...probably should not matter much, but, you know, to some...it might..

I know nothing about this (herb) being discussed. I just want to remind all DOT qualified drivers that IF this (herb) causes a false positive for opiates on a drug test your going to have a MAJOR headache.

Some months ago I started reading a book by Dr. Joe Dispenza. He is a scientist, teacher, lecturer, researcher among other things and author of lots of books on self healing and evolving your brain, meditation and such. He is a neuroscientist and was one of the scientists featured in the award-winning film What the BLEEP Do We Know!? The author of several New York Times bestsellers. His work includes You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and so many others.
First I read "Becoming Supernatural"... and now I have been listening to "You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter" and after that I will listen to "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself"...
Those are great... lots of valuable info about how our minds and body works and how we can change your thoughts, even our genes and conditions and heal ourselves and change our lifes...
Do a Google search on him and his work...:biggrin_25519:
The most important and the most difficult for me so far is to do the meditations on a regular basis...

As I said I don't know one way or the other. I'm just going by what was wrote in the wikipedia article linked to. (Kratom has opioid properties and some stimulant-like effects). I'm aware that this (herb) is not tested for. This is why I said (false) positive. Just seems to me that if a substance has opioid properties there is at least a tiny chance a false positive could happen. With this, i'm gone!:D
