I told'em construction supplies, steel coils, roofing shingles, Aircraft parts.
Pretty much anything except cars because your rates shoot to the moon if your're a car hauler. Especially if you're a new owner/ operator

That is correct, because when you are starting out you don’t know what you will be carrying.

We don’t leave off vehicles on our insurance but we do let them know that we’re only ever hauling up to two at a time. The $100,000.00 cargo that we carry has always been sufficient for hauling up to two vehicles. In the event that the value of the vehicles, or freight are more than $100,000.00 we just pick up the phone call our insurance agent and have them increase it for the one load. And then we call them once it’s off the trailer and reduce it back down to the $100,000.00. Most of the time the load is off our trailer before it’s even processed so there’s no charge. It pays to have a good insurance agent. Why pay for $150,000.00 cargo coverage all year when you may only go over it a few times in a year?

Small home town type insurance agents are the best way to go. They are getting harder to find but there still some out there. Dealing with large corporations like Progeressive for instance, most of their agents are to busy, or to lazy once they get you’re down payment to do any real work for you after that, or even talk to you. If you have to follow several prompts on a phone just to get to talk to somebody, Myself, I’m not interested in doing business with a insurance company like that. When I have a insurance question, or need to talk to somebody at a insurance company, I need to do it right now, not 45 minutes from now.

What's a good one to call? I have a 2018 Chevrolet 2500HD and I have been pulling single boats. Quickly realizing that the company I am pulling for is not paying their drivers on time. And I have now been 3 weeks without pay.
