Only if reliability is less of a concern than expense. Since Xantrex sold out 10 years ago, the quality has gone downhill since manufacturing was shifted to China. Even some of the inverters that came out of the Livermore California manufacturing facility had major issues when they started ordering cheap Chinese capacitors for the circuit boards. If you're paying less than a dollar a watt for an inverter chances are pretty good you're buying a Chinese one.
Im looking for a reliable inverter

Ive got a xantrex 1500 watt inverter and my coffee pot trips the 150 amp fuse block. What can i do to keep this from happening? Ive thought about putting a 250 amp fuse block in but not sure.

I had a 2000 watt pure sine wave Zantrex that has done well. In my research, Go Power makes a quality pure sine wave. Pure sine costs more but we'll worth it.

I bought an earlier model of this Xantrex ProwattSW 2000 4 years ago, zero problems. It is the same model that comes with a Tripac, rated 1800w continuous. If memory serves, it was a bit over $400. I also installed it with 2/0 cable and a 250A fuse at the batteries, about another $100+ in cost. I use a coffee pot (650w) and a small microwave (900w) along with other smaller loads (chargers, tv, printer). At the other end of the cables is a set of premium AGM batteries to supply enough power and capacity.

I've got a Cooper bussman 1800w true sine. A little over a year now no problems whatsoever.
Inverterman Thanks this. -
Have purchased a few inverters from the inverter store out of Reno. All have been 3k watt units. I get the ETL/UL listed ones. They have been a few bucks more, but worht the extra. No problems with any of them for years now.
I find the big problem with inverters is the install. You have to use good wire with good insulation on it. 0 guage and solder all connectors. Crimp type put to much resistance in the line.
