Perhaps because of your tighter axle load restrictions, don't know. But you won't see them here.

The most important topics in this matter must be running costs. But it is mostly quarrel about looks and downpipes (stacks) . (and measurement, metric or inch. )
Purchase price, reliability, service costs, fuel consumption, spare parts availability och costs, is what it's all about.

Those are only part of the equation. Resale value, revenue, tax implications, return on investment, comfort, driveability, customer appeal, weight, and attractiveness to drivers are equally important.

    daf105paccar and spsauerland Thank this.

Resale value, revenue, tax implications, return on investment are all running costs. Obviously a big part is "emotional decisions"

Oxbow, there is 1 you mention which i find has little value.
    Customer appeal.
As long as you are not driving a wreck,my experience is that they nowadays only look at the $ or €.

Our work and customer base are folks that are willing to pay more than the cheapest price in order to get better service, quality of work, and reliability. Clean trucks that show pride of ownership, as well as clean well spoken drivers portray professionalism, and provide an excellent first impression.

So I strongly disagree with you on this aspect.

On this we can agree. Companies normally want to use well maintained trucks, and professional looking drivers. Over here they will also quite often demand Euro VI trucks, and for inner city supplies they will want silent trucks, or these days even electric trucks.

I am happy for you that it still is that way for you.
Enjoy it and hope it lasts.
I wish it was still like that here.
