I would never suggest Prime to someone looking for weekly hometime, and I really like it here. It is by and large an OTR outfit where you will be running a month at a time. There are some dedicated routes around, but they are pretty limited. I'm not personally aware of any in the Springfield area.

Although, in the long run if you wanted to be a PSD trainer (training guys with permits to get their cdl) you could be in Springfield every other week or so to test those students out.

We have some customers around that particular area. Many in surrounding area/states.

Particular one right there that comes to mind, that we go to often, would be Performance Food... next to the Smith & Wesson facility.

Pride TS in Chicopee is where I hole up. Sometimes, even have time to get my night bowling on there! :biggrin_25525:

Lot of times load out of one of the two Ben & Jerry's plants in VT. Or customers in MA,CT, NH, RI or NY.

Oh, yeah....... OTR anywhere will not be an option if you desire home weekly. But, may have to bite bullet OTR for while to gain some experience, but look around.

You definately would be looking for a local job. Dedicated or regional may provide chance, but weekly may still be difficult. A dedicated would give you much better chance than a regional.

    Peace :biggrin_25525:

    Problem is...

    Turning down loads.

    Rule of thumb...

    Crappy pay on one end...

Amazing pay on the other end aaaaand...

    The season.

In the reefer division, the season for money making is mid-March through end of October.

Limit time off during this period and save money for the dry spell...

    Thanksgiving to mid-March.

Stay out of that "pretty" terminal in Springfield and do not take any advances.

Take your foot off the throttle and drive like a company driver.
