I cant remember if the jury had a ruling on it or not but ultimately the judge tossed the case because it was a illegal stop.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Pretty cool guy was training a new vehicle inspection officer. I found out he was the officers who lived two blocks down from me on the main street (I have another one few blocks from me as well). Must of retired since he SUV has not been there for 5-6 months. -
He said “you know, we don’t need PC to pull trucks over like certain states do. Well, these people at this conference are telling us that they want trucks pulled over and cited for anything we find.” He then said “But we aren’t doing it. You guys are out here trying to make a living, and unless it’s a real danger or the driver acts like a #######, we are going to treat them right”. As a former cop myself, I really appreciate his outlook because that’s how it should be. Having a $2 tag light out shouldn’t be a $150 ticket, you know?KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I don’t think they need PC to pull a CMV over in any state. Otherwise, they would hardly ever be able to pull you in for inspection at the coop, unless they obviously saw a possible violation.
Just pulling into a coop could be considered a stop without probable cause.
