Doesn't have to be a dead hooker. Might just be a handgun when his permit isn't recognized by the state in which he was caught. Hell, 2 or 3 people on the jury might have a handgun in their vehicle outside in the parking lot for the same reason, and recognize the fact they could be in this exact same situation if they were traveling out of state.

 

Well it’s not a verbal warning if he wrote it in the inspection. A verbal warning is just that, verbal. The moment he writes it down, it’s a written warning

 

Not exactly, although that may make sense in a real world. As I stated earlier the Feds do not recognize warnings at all. As far as they are concerned it’s a violation whether the officer shows a written or verbal warning. Just because the officer documented a verbal warning does not make it a written warning, it just means there is a record of the verbal warning. It doesn’t make any difference whether it’s written or verbal though, the violation stands either way.

Once read a story about a guy who painted his car a different color from what it originally was. Got pulled over because the cop noticed after running the plate the color did not match the description of the title. Cop found some drugs in his car and I think it was a minor offense not sure.
I cant remember if the jury had a ruling on it or not but ultimately the judge tossed the case because it was a illegal stop.

 

They do something like that in North Iowa as well but they don't pull you over until after you passed. Most of the times it random but I think one of them was because I looked at them to long even thou I try to hide it. Another one I was leaving this small town on a back road because I was l closer to it. I get to the intersection State Patrol just siting there on the other side of the road facing me. I turn right and look at my mirrors and he is still sitting there few seconds later he start to follow me. After 3 miles he disappeared for the next 6 miles after. Got in the next biggest city still don't see him. Made it pretty much the whole city and he pulls me over right before a truck stop that I was about to use.
Pretty cool guy was training a new vehicle inspection officer. I found out he was the officers who lived two blocks down from me on the main street (I have another one few blocks from me as well). Must of retired since he SUV has not been there for 5-6 months.

 

I actually know the head of the motor carrier division for the highway patrol. Really good guy. I called him after I got DOT’d by one of his units to tell him how professional the officer was and how well he treated me. He thanked me and then told me he was at a CVSA conference somewhere up north.

He said “you know, we don’t need PC to pull trucks over like certain states do. Well, these people at this conference are telling us that they want trucks pulled over and cited for anything we find.” He then said “But we aren’t doing it. You guys are out here trying to make a living, and unless it’s a real danger or the driver acts like a #######, we are going to treat them right”. As a former cop myself, I really appreciate his outlook because that’s how it should be. Having a $2 tag light out shouldn’t be a $150 ticket, you know?

 

I don’t think they need PC to pull a CMV over in any state. Otherwise, they would hardly ever be able to pull you in for inspection at the coop, unless they obviously saw a possible violation.

Just pulling into a coop could be considered a stop without probable cause.
