I'm getting set to offload a load of oil drill pipe today, when the foreman says, "Do you think we should see if the geiger counter shows they are 'hit'?"

I was wearing my high visibility vest. I said, "Well when I put on this vest this morning it was dark brown."

He got a chuckle out of that. I was unloaded within 30 minutes.

I know of re-bar being radioactive coming up from Mexico but nothing about oil pipe. But hey, you never know. If it helps sure it's highly radioactive.

Frozen beef patties that were brand labeled for a fast food company that advertises their patties "are always fresh and never frozen"

Believe it or not if they run at 28+ degrees it doesn't count as frozen, even though it ends up partially frozen. Was it actually at 0 or lower? That's crazy if so, and actually kind of a big deal from a false advertising legal liability perspective.

Oh sure. They come out of a freezer box at the cold storage place already at 0 and requested 0 Fahrenheit or colder

back in the mid 90's, i had to ge to Texas Instruments in MA, with an empty 53 foot trailer.

i had been there before, many times in fact, but not for something like this.

they loaded me like in about 2 minutes, gave me my paperwork, and off the someplace in PA.

i checked the load, made sure it was secured...

ONE pallet, with ONE piece of product, that couldn't have weighed more than half a pound...??

must have been a very important part to something, to have a 53 foot trailer, all to themselves.

most likely cost more than over night by FedEx, too......

That's crazy. Seriously if their competitors could prove it they would be facing a 'class action lawsuit' designed to drum up as much TV time as possible. Hell if the people shorting their stock could prove it, it would play out exactly the same way.

Believe it or not being a hater is a profitable full time job in the financial markets lol.

Their competitors probably don't want to prove it, because they're engaging in their own deceptive practices.

I don't see how any national fast food [hamburger] chain can realistically work with "fresh beef" any way. Not the way food distribution networks operate today. One supplier basically supplies ALL of their core menu ingredients except perhaps vegetables such as lettuce and tomatoes.

So having fresh meats in the chain could be a recipe for local disaster if a cooler goes out temporarily somewhere in the chain.
