If you feel is unsafe to proceed, yes.
But.
As a new driver you'll probably tend to be pretty conservative. Big trucks are surprisingly, well, stable.
That's not to say hammer down and #### the torpedoes, but it takes a while to get the feel for what a truck can and cannot do. I'm still learning that for sure.
I remember being freaked out thinking the tractor was going to tip just from the crown in the road.

She should sue the state as well, if they didn't have some kind of barrier in the median, that is a contributing factor.
I recall a bad wreck out in California in the 90's, it was along I-580 in Livermore/Pleasanton somebody got tangled up bad in the cable barrier between the freeway and got cut in half. They sued the state for millions and won. California spent umpteen millions more uninstalling the cables and putting in concrete and steel barriers.
Then there was another really bad one not long after that, a mom carrying some of her kids and some of her friend's kids, crossed over the southbound I-5 lanes and crossed the median and headon into a dump truck going northbound, one of the other kids died and California was out there within a couple days putting up miles of steel barrier along I-5.Infosaur and Maj. Jackhole Thank this. -
There is a lot about this crash that Werner’s PR campaign is ignoring. For example the driver drove past multiple black ice crashes on the route and kept the pedal to the metal. Multiple truck drivers came to trial and testified the conditions were unsafe and they pulled over or continued at a crawl. Not Werner. Bottom line any truck driver that would have had any experience would of pulled over. So start the debate with why didn’t the student driver pull over? Why was it that he continued on black ice and when he had ample time to stop he continued to drive head on in to a stopped truck and took the life of a young boy. Why did it happen? It may have had something to do with the fact that Werner never provided the driver with any winter drivers training. It may have been the fact that the driver’s trainer was asleep in the back at the time of the crash. It may have been due to the fact that there was an alternate route, but Werner tried to beat the ice and failed.

It’s a sad fact that the law in the states defends stupid people. In my country the police tell us to make sure to kill any would be burglars or bandits because its more expensive to keep a wounded man alive rather than pay for his casket.
Old mark and Snailexpress Thank this. -
Could have drove around with underwear on his head. It wasn't Werner that went across the median and stuck the car because he didn't slow down. Nothing Werner did made that car loose controll and come across the median.Maj. Jackhole, spyder7723, Aamcotrans and 3 others Thank this. -
The other party lost control.
What story did you read that the other 300 of us did not ?spyder7723, Aamcotrans and Odin's Rabid Dog Thank this. -
