You seemed logical the first half of your post, then you went off the rails there. If you read what I wrote carefully, you'll see I had no "red flags" the first time and everything seemed legit. I went home to discuss it with my wife and to inform my current boss I would be putting in my 2 weeks, as they knew I was currently working. My boss at the time raised my pay, pretty nicely I might add, and showed me that he really wanted me to stick around, so I stayed, and they were perfectly fine with it. The second time THEY contacted ME out of the blue. I was still working for the same guy and politely declined and they said were fine with that and understood. The red flags and sketchy stuff didn't occur until I went to speak with them in person the SECOND time. As I stated, it seems they had been having problems with the law etc, and the driver turnover had gotten ridiculous as opposed to the first time I went, all of which I was unaware of until I went down there the second time. I followed my gut and didn't accept the job, as I think MOST with common sense would of done the same thing. They weren't sketchy from the get go, and if things had been the way they were the first time, I would have accepted the job. I'm not sure what happened on their end. So I'm not sure what sparked the last half of your post.

No, no load was waiting on me. Had I accepted the job, I wouldn't of gotten my first load until Tuesday, as they don't get new loads for the week until Monday afternoon, everything that delivers on Monday's was picked up the previous Friday evening. For one, had I even accepted the job on Saturday, I wouldn't of had a load until at LEAST Tuesday, and for two, I never accepted the job. If you refer to the post I responded to above this, you'll see they ran into trouble at some point because things weren't like this the first time we spoke. So I'm not sure if they were having problems with the business or what, but even IF I accepted the job and delcined it on Saturday, what they did is not excusable.

Strong assumption ridden reply there Rusty. My question to you is this, based on your assumption that you're only getting "half of the story" what in the hell do you consider justifiable for me to have done, for them to do such a thing? Because based off your post, you're in a way, implying that I "could" have done something that would make said events ok? Is that what you're getting at?

Wrong again, at one time I preferred flatbed. In the past month I've applied to ANYTHING trucking related in my area. Even NON trucking related jobs like landscaping companies, construction companies, warehouses, hell even fast food. But no dice, why? Because EVERYTHING labor related around here is taken by the Hispanic folks (my wife is Hispanic so don't get offended people) and due to my resume, most fast food joints and places of that nature won't hire me because I'm "over qualified" and they assume I'll just jump ship as soon as I get the chance. Schools is just about out, and their being flooded by the teenagers. I'm not being picky in the slightest.

Because this is TTR, and there is always some one hit wonder who comes in with a bizarre story, only to never return, resulting in the assumption it was all bs. I'm surprised I'm getting a decent amount of negative feedback and criticism considering I'm a decently active member, who always interacts in a respectful manner.

 

Understood. Well, as I eluded to in my original post, the threats were building over time, and they started at about 9pm the first night. I don't know of any local cops I could call that would ride an hour and a half away to show up at their front door in the middle of the night. If a situation were to arrive at my front door, I have no problem meeting a threat to myself of family with the appropriate response. In regards to someone doing something so vile while owning a business is hard to believe, it happens and it certainly took me by surprise.
