Thanks hopefully i get it down. I bookmarked this thread for future reference. I hope it's not a common thing i encounter.
My hope or goal however you want to put it is to eventually get a dedicated lane (not sure if that's the correct term?). Ya know running from point a to b and back continuously, i don't really care how far it is as long as it's not too short of a distance.

You know, there's something else include in trip planning that not many people make mention of: major cities. Cross them at the wrong time of the day, and you may kill your clock. Some may be a small slow down. Others may have killer traffic(Nashville, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Houston). If you have to go through any of those cities during peak times, you may as add at least an hour to amount of time it takes to make that run. If it's New York, add 3-4 hrs

should be able to figure it out in your head easy . it's 1 pm they want me to pick up 45 miles away and drive 409 miles and delivers by 11 am .... I have 4 hrs of driving time 6 on the 14 .... can I do it ... 1 hr deadhead 1 hr loading 8 hours driving ... so need the 10 hour break so that's 20 hours total time . .. so have two hours to spare it's not rocket science and the dm need a quick answer .. if it works closer than an hour I would tell the dm " should be able to make it but they can't take too long loading. ... anyways you can't figure an exact time too many variables if you are at rush hour in a major city you can add some time ... should only take a couple of minutes to figure it out

How long do you account for getting to a place to shutdown if you know you won't have much time left after picking up?

that doesn't matter too much you have some extra time built in figuring 50 mph and you have to take a 10 hr break somewhere you should have 2 and a half hours left of driving when you pick up so I would try to pick a place around 100 miles away and that leaves you around a half hour to park or find a place
