The one in my 2011 Freightliner was $2300 parts and labor. Yes, it would've been much cheaper to go to Napa and buy the clutch and change it myself but my time is worth more than that. Plus I don't have the space or the equipment to do it and I'm not buying the equipment.

The only reason you cant get it done in one day is if the machine ship is backed up so you got to wait a day for them to resurface your flywheel. prices are all over the place. Parts should be under 600. I wouldn't pay a penny more than 750 for labor but many shots want 2k jyst for labor, while others will do it for 1250 out the door after parts and labor. Call up places that specialize in transmission and rear ends. They will be the cheapest cause they have done so many they can get it done fast and not base their price on "book" hours.
If you were down here i know a guy that will do it for 500 plus costs. He can get it done while you wait.

I bought mire direct from Hendrickson. Including the fancy stainless steel box for the controls to give it that nice finished touch it was just over 1200 bucks. That was the free spinning tire version. The locked tire version was a littler cheaper but i wouldn't want to risk flat spotting tires on hills you find on the two lanes. You will only have about 4 inches of ground clearance so that's a real concern.

Pete, I could be wrong but......didn't you put valves on your front axle airbags and you were going to use a strap to hold it up?

You can do that...and many guys do. But it's a pia to have to put 4x4s down, drive up. Dump your air, get under and strap it up.
