Litter box goes in front of the passenger seat.
Mine are the same. They both take turns going down the highway on the dash.

One thing I think needs to be considered is the automatic windows and the buttons for them. There have been several pets lost after they managed to roll down a window and get out. Perhaps some sort of cardboard cover should be put over the buttons and duct tape be used to make a flap that can be unstuck when you want to use the buttons. Pets climb around and do things unexpected when you might be out of the truck.

Don't get a puppy. Go to shelter that knows the animals and get a low energy couch potato. I had my pitbull with me for two months.

That's a very good point. I no longer Start the truck and go inside for coffee and brush teeth.
Came out one morning and they both are sitting with their paws on the edge of the passenger side window, window down.

I love dogs, but no way in heck would I put one on the truck. To many places have rules regarding pets and children in trucks. You have either, you are not entering the property. No enter, no load, no load, no income.

After having my dog riding with me for the last eight years, I can definitively say that I would not do it again. She is coming close to the end and it’s getting harder to deal with her medical issues out on the road.

A couple of days ago, she had a pretty bad seizure while I was taking her out potty at the truck stop. She stopped breathing for so long that I thought I had lost her. That’s probably my worst fear... what am I going to do with her if she goes and I’m a thousand miles from home.

She’s also become somewhat incontinent, so I have to carry new sheets, waterproof mattress protectors and blankets. I just throw them out and get new ones when she has an accident. Thank god for cheap #### at walmart.

The good times are good, but the bad times are almost unbearable.
