Forward Air has good IC program, we've gotten an extra 18 cents per mile in the last couple months. They just rolled out a company driver program for the OTR LTL division too.

My opinion, if you don't have your own authority to capitalize on spot rates, find somewhere that gets you miles. My two teams average 5750 miles a week through the second week of may, havent looked at last week yet.

I don't know where you are but I here a lot of good things about Hobby Lobby

And if you're in decent sized metro area you'll want to look into some of the ltl carriers . Old dominion, R&L ,etc . Old dominion drivers are at .70 cpm now I think ,so even a crappy week of 5000 miles = $1750 per driver

@gpf87 posted Old Dominion Freight Lines and he's right. That's an excellent company for husband/wife teams and they hire new cdl grads. You will need all the endorsements plus TWIC.
They're picky about which cdl school you graduate from though. In some areas they have a "Dock to Driver Program" where you help on the docks and they help you get a cdl.
Estes Express has the same program and they're the same type company as Old Dominion.

It's an ID Card used for entry to sea ports, rail yards, chemical plants, military bases, etc.
Google will show where to get it.
Old Dominion may not require it, but some companies do. I needed one because I pulled tankers and some other type trucking companies require it.
You can ask when you start the application process.
You'll need a passport or passport card for entry to Canada if you want those runs.I don't know if Canada accepts Real ID or not.
I just got the Real ID when I changed my license from Tennessee to Nevada this month.
