Ok makes sense thank you

That's great

Do you and the wife plan to start at the same time?
The state sometimes pays for cdl school, free to you, through the WIOA Program.
Google has the info on that. -
Yes we do. That would be very good. We both have low income jobs and paying for school ourselves would be difficult.

You can start first, then hire on with a company. Then you're wife can start school and after graduation, hire on with the same company & you can be her trainer.
You can attend school at the same time and then hire on with a company that uses teams. If you don't want to be separated during training with your first company, Covenant Transport trains husband/wife teams at the same time in the same truck. The trucks are set up for 3 people with double bunk bed sleepers.
Some husband/wife teams want to be trained together and not in separate trucks, running all over the country.
Since you won't be obligated to Covenant because you graduated from private schools, you can leave any time you want.
After 3 months with Covenant, switch to another company if you wish.
Quest Global hires husband/wife teams to run coast to coast. Check their website. They do lots of west coast runs. Drivers don't touch freight there.
Old Dominion has a terminal in Birmingham also.
