Not to worry, robotic levitating jet-powered trucks will be here to clean us out in no time.

    Not all of us.
Some of us are really decent hands, and we don't like being grouped in with the dirt bag mouth breathers.

That's the problem. You nailed it.
2,000 miles a week is sitting around twiddling thumbs.
    That's 300 miles/day.
If they PLAN, they can keep those trucks moving.

I wouldn't make it 2 weeks at a place where I sat in a truck stop, or a customers dock 16hrs a day.

    I'd work at McDonald's first.
    FACT.

I'm trying to get into cattle hauling and 2000 mile weeks is what I'm getting so far and it sucks really bad cause half of them are empty.

Well I'm stuck on hauling cows out to pasture right now they figure it's something fairly easy to learn on I guess.

All of my bull hauling buddies told me those empty miles were FREE to the company/contract guys.

Had one of them working where I do, and he missed it so much he went back to doing it.
    He's crazy.
Gave up an $80k-$90k job with paid insurance, top notch equipment, light loads.. always moving..
To go drive a big Peterbilt full of cows that have intention to hurt you in the chute.. and half the time it's for free (in his case).
Hopefully you get paid for your empty miles.

It's like what my company told us, they don't have a driver shortage they have a QUALIFIED DRIVER SHORTAGE. Only about 1 in 15 meet the requirements.

    Numb Thanks this.

    THat's about it too. QUALIFIED.

It's hard to find anyone WITHOUT the auto restriction and has experience to drive a stick anymore.

Boss is even trying to train but that isn't going so good.
