This is an amazing thread @jimthehunt. I will be graduating from a Roadmaster school in July 2018 and am considering Maverick to be my #1 choice when I get out. A lot of that has to do with what I've read here. I do have a question about the trucks. Do they have Apus or inverters in them? Also what is the idle policy?

All of them have apu's, this thread was a determining factor for me. Also just got another raise so that's a plus! New to being OtR ( drove 20+ years ago)and so far I'm loving it.

Awesome because with being at this school they of course push you to go Werner and they dont allow apu or inverters.

I believe they have 1500w inverters ran by the apu. I could be wrong in my terminology.
But it has enough to run my microwave, and bunk ac :) I'm in Glass division. I've only been solo 3 weeks. So it's all pretty new still.
But last 3 weeks bring home checks were 1250,950,1350 that's bring home not gross, and all of that is prior to a new raise we just recieved last week. that should give you an idea where you'll be once all training is done.

That's great for pay. I am interested in the Flatbed division. 1500 watt inverter should be perfect. I just hope I can get the chance to join this great company

Flatbed will get you home more often. I'm not one that goes home much. I've only been home 2 times in past 4 months. But it has been by choice! I got a load to Michigan this past week. Asked if I could visit my family here and they made it happen. So the fleet managers work with you when you need them! I'm loving my Maverick Family Good luck!

Ya a plus for me would be if they ran anything to MT as I just moved to NC from MT and have family there. Home time is cool cuz I do have a fiance but we also wanna make enough money to pay for a wedding so we have planned for me to be out at least 2 weeks at a time.
