Not really. The absolute worst places are for fresh produce. You always have lumpers to deal with unloading and the wait times on both ends can be really bad. I hauled reefer for 2 years with no produce, and my wait times were never bad because I didn't deliver or pick up from large grocery DC's. When I drove dry van, the delivery times at grocery DC's was just as bad as reefer which is why I stay away from those places.

When you do haul for Sysco, do you get a lot of partial n full load rejections at receiver?

Sysco is literally one of my favorite places to go. We can sleep there and I’m usually gone an hour after my appt and that’s a full trailer of dozens of different items. It’s probably because my company owns the product and they count it after though..

Do most reefer companies allow the driver to unload their trailer and collect the lumper pay instead of letting a lumoer do it ?

    Some do, but many don't.

I can do some, but wouldn't want to do a full load or even much of a load.

We have places that need 1 or 2 pallets sorted, those are infrequent and easy enough to do.

Kroger DC in Atlanta. Capstone. Need I say more?

Ok I will. SOBs lost part of my paperwork so they rejected 4 pallets and put it back on me, BEHIND my electric pallet jack. I have never seen that done before.

I raised H and they found the missing page and took the remaining 4 pallets off.

After I paid lumpers they had managed to lose the paperwork again. Took 'em 30 minutes to find the paperwork.
