i have yet another question..
Here’s my situation right now I’m doing a 10 hour break which will be done at 22:37 PST. I have exactly 4 hours left on my 70. I’m supposed to gain 12H 55 mins at midnight mountain time zone. do I need to wait those 23 minutes before I go on duty to get those hours? Or can I start a pre trip and get those recap hours on my 70 while I’m on duty?
I got a pick up at 23:15 and I want to get there as fast as possible

You will have to wait the rest of the 23 minutes for the reset to get your hours back. Might want to wait 25-30 minutes before logging your pretrip. Some eld are a few minutes slow.
If you've been to the location before and they have room to park on or near property you might get away with staying there the night next time or creep the truck. -

You will gain the time back as the clock strikes midnight, regardless of your duty status at midnight.

You can start your clock when your 10 is up. You will only use 23 minutes of the 4 hrs left today, leaving you with 3h 37 m. Then at 2300 you can that to your recap hrs you gain. Which would be around 15 h 35 MIN. Approx
