I was wondering if someone would point this out. If they can't get insurance for 18 y/o drivers, there won't be any. Period.

I wouldn't let 90% of them drive a go cart around let alone a 80lb truck there to stupid and immature why not give the keys to a grade schooler and say have at it I hope that if it goes through that the first one the wrecks and kills someone it's the family of the idiot that passes it into the legislature

As for the ata someone needs to take them out back of the wood shed and break every bone in there body aspecially there jaw so they couldn't spew out stupidity and embarrass themselves

But it's a little too young to toss a 18 year old into a 40 ton tractor trailer just yet outside of Military Logistics. They need a little more seasoning before being sent into NYC or some such.
Never mind the voting. Yes it's a right etc. But ultimately it does not matter. (This would be a whole stack of hard drives worth of debate. Let's not go there today) That's why they can do it so young.
I don't know if Canada managed to raise their majority year above 14 from way back when but it would be something else if they are sent up there and find out they can do things you cannot do down here.
If memory serves, Arkansas Law does not allow any one under 21 to possess or purchase handgun or handgun ammunition, particularly concealed UNLESS specifically hunting or engaged in a living history event or some such very very narrow exceptions. When I used to go train and shoot with the Searcy PD once a month we had many minors show up doing really well with shooting when parents were there. One in particular he was essentially flawless with his .44 at 10 yards and maybe 12 or so. I would not want to see him as a bad guy myself personally. I can shoot. But this fella... makes all of us, police included look pretty bad with his precision.
It's not often a round goes through the + inside that 10 ring center and the next round makes a LITTLE bigger. and so on. After he emptied the gun you could cover all of them with a nickel. -
While not cheap, some underwriter in my business would probably come up with a premium to accept a 18 year old, but the reality is the mega's with their own "Self Insurance" (typically up to or beyond the FMCSA filing limits) and Risk Manager will accept it as a cost of doing business
