    Yes they will get the money. To quote a Driver Solutions collector that I talked to last week, "We are a school, we will let the bill set for a couple of years drawing interest, sue you, and then get an IRS student loan offset. (they take your refund)." You can not even get rid of them through a bankruptcy under the new laws due to being a "School". This is from my own bankruptcy lawyer.
