Well, how many trucks do you have?

 

what about compared to some of these smaller outfits that let you run under their numbers and off multiple boards? just trying to weigh all the benefits..

 

it will be just me, 1 truck.

 

There's a lot more freight on the public boards. Landstar even has a lot of loads on the public boards.

 

Yesterday there was over 57,000 loads on the board for 10,100 trucks to cover. You will have freight options coming out your ears. I never agree to what the agents ask. I always ask and get more money or I don't run their load. The worm has turned on freight rates. 3 years ago it was the brokers world. Now it is the drivers world. The economy is absolutely booming. This is the best time to jump into truck ownership I have seen in my 11+ years driving big truck. And LS is at the top of the food chain IMO.

 

Well I didn't see 57,000. I've only seen that many once. There is at any given time no less than about 28,000 in even in the middle of the night, and currently the number goes into the high 40s lows 50s during the day.

When things slow down that number will be about half.

Not all of those loads are even close to being covered by Landstar trucks. Most loads are two or three days, I'm not sure how you would pull two or three at the same time.

My point being however, you have one truck. I've never seen less than 23,000 loads on the board even on Sunday night. I think you will find something.
