Just about every bulk plant I go to is a hot mess.

Toxic wast from the rail cars they repair here. It did have a nice neon green glow to it.
This lovely place had their mine haul trucks clean out in front of the cement silos.
Have you ever wondered why bulk customers are such a pain?

I've never seen a pig set up like that.
Are you getting loaded or unloading?dwmac71 Thanks this. -
More than not most of the customers had broken equipment. Be it broken fittings, holes in the lines, malfunctioning bag house, etc. You bring it up to them and they just say unload it.

Two old tank cars standing on end behind the tracks so they have to stop work to fill the tanks.
They tried a long hose (which is what I'm using here) but it gets blown out in a few loads .
For some reason it's always my fault how they set up their plant. -
Like people who build tanks for a living and build their own black sand tank and use sc40 electrical conduit for 180 degree bend and can't understand why it blows out on the 2nd load?Bud A., MagnumaMoose, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yep, God knows what coming out of those tank cars.Bud A. Thanks this. -
We had a couple of redi-mix plants like that. It never seemed to dawn on them that fixing holes in pipe with duct tape wasn't a good long term solution.
Under California law we'd share the responsibility and liability if they got cited for material escape while we unloaded. They wouldn't fix anything so we quit hauling for them.
About a month later CARB and EPA came down on them with both feet. The plant was cited for escaping material and their new trucking company was also cited. The fines were well over one hundred thousand dollars. -
I cuss California just like everybody else who does business here but sometimes they get it right. A lot of the really dilapidated and dangerous plants got remodeled and in some cases shut down altogether.
LOL...when a plant's solution to leaks or blown out bag houses is "tell the driver to use as little air as possible" you know you're in for it.
