Don't forget Uber and Lyft. Apparently there is a hot demand for drivers to collect and recharge electric scooters if Craigslist is anything to go by.

Yeah idk what the deal is with drivers in the twin cities. I know a few union shops hiring but some some reason people want to work crappy jobs.

I offered my buddy a job where I work. He turned it down, he hauls animal guts out of slaughter houses...

We tend to hire senior type drivers as they have the life and work experience our local plant management desires.
They realize there is a tradeoff to be made to allow a 100K+ income.
For the company the benefits are less incidents which equal lower plant cost but your employees are only around 15 to 20 yrs.till retirement.
A 25 yr old w 4 years accident/incident free background would be in the top 10% of our seniority list sooner than later and w wages going up after next yr you would likely be at 100K and over for the next 30 yrs.
    Not bad for driving.

You struck gold with Ozark. One of the big boys in Memphis but they aren't so big like the retarded ones that turned you down. How can the lower paying companies, basically the beggars that have little chance of keeping drivers past a year, be choosers?

We just require one year clean record with knowing how to drive a manual which weeds out pretty much all the young drivers lol.

I’m at the very bottom of the list at 30 years old. Most guys here are 40+ the guys at the top are all in their 60s and should retire soon but in order for me to move up we actually have to find drivers...

Life isn’t bad as a bottom feeder though. I start between 6:30 and 9:30 not 4am... I get drafted for Saturday work too but idc because I’m always done by noon and make a full days pay in 5 hours and I’m off by 6 during the week. Pretty regular hours.

Lol I know. Then they come on here and say trucking sucks and they are broke.

I haven’t seen DOT since I started this job and that’s a great thing.

It's not hard to make 60k a year working 70 hours a week, and 7 days a week - in a non truck driving job. Anybody can easily do that if they wanna work 7 days a week - and get to at least sleep in a house and at home at night, not in a parking lot or a dangerous location. Plus you can even have a girlfriend and see her every night even though you are working 7 days a week. You can't do any of that if you are a truck driver in a lonely tin can..........Or they could go to nursing school and be a RN and make 60k a year working 3 days a week........Choices....like George Jones sang....

I make 54k on 6 days 8-9 hours per day doing a milk pick up route no plant deliveries. If I wanted to work 7 days I would be making 65-70k.

Not many non trucking jobs will give you 7 days per week. I formerly worked as a milk plant reciever. Company would do anything and everything to keep you from getting any overtime, literally 40 hours and no more. That's pretty typical these days. Many non trucking jobs you speak of won't give you overtime. Of course my trucking job overtime is not even a thing I get paid by the day.

Let's face it we don't live in the best of times generally speaking. It's not going to get any better for the middle class either. Major staple names like Sears is going down the toilet. Why do you think that is. Lack of spending money from middle income earners

Point me to that nursing school where a high school dropout can be an RN in 2-4 weeks.
