There is a way to check your idle percentage on the qualcomm too.

Grok is correct that it is a cumulative thing too.

I realize that, but I don't see how you could ever realistically be working with a surplus of idle hours at any given time, so when you do have layovers, detention, shut downs, you literally cannot idle at all.

But, you can drive 11 hours, so the best case scenario is that you can idle 3.3 hours per day. That does not get you through a SINGLE night.

Do you have the option to pay for some gas on your own, or credits for plugging in or anything that might make this policy actually liveable?

I know at home my electric bill is usually over $200 a month. That's just fine with me because comfort is worth a little extra to me.

11 driving 3.3 idling would be:

    3.3/14.3=23%

For 30% you can idle 4.71 hours for 11 hours driving.

    4.71/15.71=30%

    I see, yes you're right.

Adjust the figures in my statement but it doesn't really change the message.

I really appreciate the heads up. I'm still really sad about it and I guess for you as well. I assume you'll be moving on after the proper experience has been gained.

You know, the truck is your home. None of our homes are profitable, we use electric constantly because that's just normal and reasonable in order to get by and live. At least the truck is also making a killing. There's really no good reason other then genuinely not giving a crap about the driver to enforce this policy. It's one thing to feel like dirt and another to simply know it.

    CA Idling Exemption:

Bus passengers are onboard or 10 minutes
    prior to boarding

So why is this? Is it possible that they recognize that comfort of a person is reasonable?

I worked for them in 2002 and was written up 3 times for over idleing my truck but nothing ever came of it. They are a pain but all companys seem to have gotten that way. The way i look at it if they are not paying for a room for me or idle air then my truck will be running if that is what it takes for me to get a good rest, I will not endager myself or others because they dont want the truk idleing, If it is nice outside then i will shut my truck off if to hot or cold I will be comfortable 1 way or another.

Werner has a no idle policy. Trucks are programed to turn off after 5-6 mins.
