I enjoy looking forwards to better times but don't let that distract me from where I am now.

There are people from every generation, race, gender, that blames other people for failures. That is nothing new. It just seems new because everything is more exposed than it's ever been. What I will say the real difference in this generation is that with technology advancing like it has, people don't look to the brain for answers so much as they do the computer. Some are worse than others but we are ala guilty of using technology to give us answers.

I don't. Question remains the same, though.

Check my writings. I do not think you will ever find anything written by me where I have said a driver should have to put up with crap. Even during that year. Drivers MUST develop boundaries and never let a carrier cross them. These indentured drivers serving out that first year even must do this. If a driver in that first year gets fired for refusing to operate a dangerous truck or do something over their skill I say screw that company. Read those words because you might never see me write them again. I don't handle crybabies well. I also hate a person that tells lies, half truths or lies by ommitting critical actions they did. A driver that lets a carrier bully them into things like no detention after sitting at a shipper or receiver all day, well it's their fault if it happens again. I once told my FM that if I did not get paid for 4 of 6 hours being detained for something THEY did I would be cleaning out my truck the next time I was in Elm Springs. I already had a rental car reserved. I got paid. You must stick up for yourself because as sure as #### nobody else will!

Think of a blindside back as a maneuver where you approach the spot with spot in your right mirror. In my career most times I was blindsiding I was in an area with no room at all to the left of the space like on a wall. Some places are so tight that if a driver does not drop and move their tractor you have to come into the spot from that spots right not left. I am hoping your kidding.

For sure. It's not like he was the frist driver to have a problem getting into a door. Probably happens all the time. The yard dog knew what he wanted. Money can be a universal language.

It is a money maker for some at these places, I know one driver who worked as a YD was telling me they would purposely put trailers in the way of the path to get some green out of the truckers who didn't know how to back up, they made pretty good beer money with them.

He also said that one of the YD spoke poor Spanish and when someone would try to talk to him about moving a trailer or two for them, he would start rambling off in Spanish as fast as he could, which discouraged them from any attempt to get a trailer or two moved. This led to a Jackson being the interpreter. 90% of the drivers wouldn't know what he was saying but that 10% who caught him he would apologize and move a trailer or two for them.
