Question: Will The Federal Government use your prints to see if you have violated the law? That answer is a 100% hell yes they will.
Are they going to be concerned about your actions as a 10 year old? Hmm, no!
Go get printed hand!

After I got printed for HazMat, the police knocked on my door over some bubble gum I once stole.

Maybe it's not what he did when he was 10 but something he did more recently that has the OP worried.
tinytim, ChaoSS, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this. -
Heres the deal, when a person is only 10 years old, you havent even developed finner prints yet. they come in later in life, l;ike at about 18 or so - so dont worry your good -

Once the government has your prints they have them forever...

But the ages I committed certain things were before 14. In that time period long ago there was nothing to prosecute if the other party declines to press charges. Because up to a certain age, a true child does not know enough right from wrong to have the law especially adult law applied to him or her so young. (It's a example of how fast I was growing up and how badly things went sometimes)
As far as fingerprints Im already part of the NCIS and other databases as a licensed carry. It turned up nothing at all as expected. DNA is approaching a level of technology science superiority where it's possible to grab your DNA, and literally have a powerful computer build your actual face extracting the DNA sequence for the proper information from itself. A hair, fingernail scraping or blood or other fluids is more than enough to do this. If you are a smoker for example, you leave your own DNA everywhere. (Not wise)
So, if you did bad things as a kid like I did but were not formally charged and convicted (And either sealed or expunged) you have nothing to worry about. There is a clear dividing line in everyone's life related to age itself where anyone could be charged as a Adult in certain crimes that may exclude you from holding a Hazmat or other important clearances.
I know I can get through the necessary grilling to get security clearances, but rather not. Ive gotten used to a peaceful life after everyone in my own world that is a liability to me has been eliminated. (Not necessarily owning stocks in any shovel company. He he he) -

As my dispatcher said when I told her I got my hazmat, maybe you won't have to stand in lines at airports anymore since you've been screened. I think employers will see this and feel better that you passed a thorough background check.
