I commuted rain or shine on my motorcycle for that job so every roadtest I was in passenger seat holding my helmet since it was a small daycab. The looks on them was funny as hell and I made up a new story why the helmet was needed everytime.

Usually see the examiner writing things on the clip board. Wearing a helmet writing on the clip board. Talk about test anxiety.

Not all students suck! I don’t. Students fall into 2 categories those that suck and those that need fine tuning. Those that suck have no business being behind the wheel of a truck and those who need fine tuning have the potential to be an excellent trucker. I needed fine tuning at first and am continuing to get better. Nobody is born a master truck driver, only time will make someone a master and that’s only if trucking is in their blood.

My comment was couched in a question and it was 100% satire.

Trucking is filled with lots of people with thin skin and little patience. If you want to be a successful professional driver, you have to develop a thick skin and at least some patience.

My first trainer and I actually came close to blows on a couple occasions. We had nothing in common at all, and his training was a lot like what you described. 30 seconds after I was off his truck, I deleted his phone number.

My second trainer and I got along quite well and had a lot in common. I still have his phone number.

I learned from both of them, but I certainly preferred my second trainer over my first.

Right now, I beg to differ. I think about 10% of all major road miles in PA are under construction.
