Hi sandboxpirate, I run a similar business in Orlando renting out 12 and 16 yd cans. If I might ask, who do you insure your truck and trailer with ? I'm currently with Infinity Insurance and their rates are not great (they charge me $600 a month for my dually and gooseneck roll off trailer).
    Thank you

Launching my own roll off business in Florida here in a couple months. I worked and watched my uncle build his from scratch literally had a Frankenstein tri axle Mack that he built. But anyway I’m just wondering what’s the best route to take I’m a veteran about to journey in the roll off business. Any tips, pointers, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Should I buy a already established business or start small and grow from there. Also will it help to get an excavator to also do demos on my off days not picking up containers? What’s the competition like in Florida ?

Hi devildogdumpsters; do you have a truck and dumpsters? Apart from your uncle's business; how else have you seen this type of business operate? youtube videos or another source?
I had your exact questions back in 2014 so I would be glad to help! Maybe if you look at my other posts about the best truck setup that would be a good place to start thanks to streetbeater's comments and advice.

I would really like to learn more about how you are doing with your dumpster rental business. Specifically if you are still doing it on a part time basis and how you handle getting the dumpsters dumped and set after your day job. Thanks.
