Do you have any driving experience? If not, a 1099 is a good way to fast track yourself out of the industry.

Yeah I missed that, first .45 isn’t decent and .35 is worse especially on a 1099.

Why don't you tell us what is the problem with your past history. Someone will point you in the right direction or help us understand why you are selling yourself short.

    BigBob410 and johndeere4020 Thank this.

Get everything in writing. Who pays what.
This is important. It could be that you are actually an employee, not a contractor. This could turn into a problem in the future.

Had a few issues with my last company. I went to swift walmart account and received bad training. Got terminated from them. Now my options are limited, i have about 2 months tractor trailer experience thats it. This guy is one of the only ones thatll give me a chance. Ive already talked to chinatown and due to my past and my age im kind of screwed out of most options

.35 at a W-2 company is low these days, .35 on 1099 is absurd. By the time you figure in taxes and about $150 a month for an occupational accident policy on yourself you’d be better off working at McD’s.

You’re being taken advantage of, plain and simple. If they don’t pay their employees correctly what else do they cut corners on?

Burger Flipping is often advised within the Forum when there's a BAD Job opportunity, in this situation it may be excellent advice

Some times you have to bite the bullet.
Get some experience and get the hell out of there as soon as you can.

Its two options on pay. First option is percentage he said standard rate is 20% then increase to 25% when you show him you're dependable. Cpm pay is usually 45 starting out then 50 once proven. Hes taking a big chance on me and even though his insurance company approved me it didn't come without a cost 6500 a year. We agreed hed pay me less for now until i get some experience

I wanna say here before we get out of hand, no one is trying to be rude to you and your talking to a group of guys who recommend avoiding megas. Chinatown is not an expert on trucking jobs, he recommends megas that you can find in those little books in front of all truck stops.

What was the “bad training” that got you fired?

You’re in Mississippi there are driving jobs there. The one you’re describing is a screw job.
