Thanks to everyone on this forum! You guys have been a big help I've read so many threads and learned so much from being here.

I'm located in Stafford Virginia. Now that I officially have my CDL I'm looking for companies that are paying well. I'm going back to the DMV to get the Hazmat, Tanker, Double and Triple Trailers endorsements this week.

It feels good to finally get out of CDL school. What are some great companies to get started with? I prefer to be home once a week or once every two weeks. I also have one "reckless driving" on my record for speeding back in 2014. I went 10 over and I paid the ticket. Otherwise my driving record is fine. I've been reading that the reckless driving will disqualify me from many companies is this true?

Income wise I'm seeking to NET no less than 1000 per week average. Which is a little less than the industry I'm leaving behind for trucking. I've talked to a few drivers who mentioned they would make 600-800 a week net and they sad that was great money? Is that the industry average? If so it's a bit underwhelming no?

I'm here to travel and make a few bucks over the next 5 years to start my business which I need around 100k to start. I'm coming from the financial services industry. I want to save 20k a year for the next 5 to get things moving.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies I look forward to continuing to learn and grow here.

Did you go to court for the FALSE charge or did you just pay the fine? In the State of Virginia Reckless driving is 20 MPH OVER the posted speed limit NOT 10 MPH, I would have fought it. There are companies out there that will hire you

I paid the ticket. The officer told me anything over 80+ is reckless in Virginia. I remember doing about 79-80 when he pulled me. The ticket was on 95 south before going into NC. Posted Speed limit was 70.

Good deal thanks for letting me know that I'll still be able to get hired with it. I thought it was like a automatic disqualifier.
