Spoke to "TaterFox" yesterday. He was picking up a load in Lemont, IL yesterday, then heading for one of the Carolinas I believe. Sure he'll be checking in soon.
Any Tidewater Transit drivers here?

Finish up my 120 days in a week. Everything going good. Still doing the no touch gravy run. They stopped doing weekends which kind of sucks though. I got a DOT violation at the scale house last week for an expired registration card
Foxzell Thanks this. -
I'm still here, and still running strong. Had a few minor hiccups here and there, but can't be put on the company as we all experience accommodation pains when getting use to the new job.
That being said, this is the type of company I'd like to retire from, insomuch that even if I didn't, it left me with the impression of not wanting to drive for a mega ever again. It's great when you are addressed by your name, not your number.
I love my routes, except for Wando, only because I have to wear a full chemsuit and respirator, but that's my inner-fat kid crying out over the humidity and heat. Pay is good, and honestly, I hard ever sit, and when I do, it's at my home surrounded by my wife and child.
If you have any questions or comments I'd be happy to address them.Foxzell Thanks this. -
@Jwhis @TaterFox @RevKev Thank you guys! I applied for them a week ago and Carol gave me a call to get some more information. If hired, I'll be at the Savannah, Ga terminal with Mike, if any of you guys been out there yet.
And I can attest for the great working environment. I stopped by the Georgia terminal for a little tour of the new facility and meet some drivers (though all were out, so I'll have to wait on that part.) The people are all very cool-headed and very understanding of personal stuff if needed to get attended to.TaterFox Thanks this. -
My only beef is that carol told me there was tuition reimbursement for my CDL class ($2000) but there isn’t.
-
I run out of the Trinity/Decatur area, and happen to go by the Kingsport location on a monthly basis, sometimes but rarely the Cowpens and Savannah terms. I've not had any issues with getting to them or visiting, and love cutting up with the guys near the McDonough one.
Not sure about the tuition reimbursement myself, didn't even know they offered it but I've had my civie CDL since 2004, back when a lot of companies wouldn't recognize a milcdl. Grr. -
Been really crazy up here in N.C. we lost our big contract 2 1/2 weeks ago. Everyone is sitting. Then the hurricane. I’m supposed to go out tomorrow for my first run in 2 weeks. Getting through fayetteville and SC is gonna be a pain. I think I-95 is still closed. I really hope something comes together soon, I’d like to train on fuel or propane. But unless some work starts happening soon I might have to bail. Really don’t want to but #### gotta make a living.
-
We also been preloading trailers, and drivers from your area are coming down, dropping off their empty, and picking up the loaded ones. I'm still in training, but I'm already like the number 5 guy on the totem pole by default, and rising. The hurricane cut short my training, so I'm training with some of the (very few) Savannah drivers.
Which contract did you guys lose? -
I left Charlotte right before it hit, and we’re now playing catch-up in the Decatur yard. Wish you well.

We had a run for Dupont. No touch 972 mile round trip that was cake and paid pretty good. 4 trucks a day. Just got my first run in 2 weeks from Fayetteville to Houston. They are helping us out. We have a lot more propane trailers piling up at the terminal so maybe I can train on that.
