I just figure $0.15 a mile. That's usually more than enough but obviously it can be less than enough.

I've had my truck since the middle of April and I've spent, after today, about $3200 on it. I know I'll do two more PMs and rear shocks before the year is over.

I don’t have the mileage # but last year I came in at 16% of gross this year with the extra Repairs on the egr valve, def filter replacement /repair, and the clutch + tow I am sitting at 18% of gross right now if no other major issues pop up the rest of the year that should drop

I am fully aware what an expense is, I wanted you to give the dollar amount.

Considering i have been at this 38 years, i think i got a handle on it.

It's kind of odd with all that knowledge, you threw in the towel.

I had five kids and a wife that missed me , Mick. Nothing on Mercer . Just sympathy to Pete’s plight . You see the success of others and you seek to emulate it . I’ve been at it 25 years myself . Signed on with FFE when I was 21. Never been the best but I’ve always been ambitious . These kind of things usually work best for single guys and or those with no bills . I had my last one with FEDEX Custom Critical and I still get that diesel in my blood when I see one down the road . I get it , this club we are all in , us independents vs the world , it’s addictive I’ll never make as much money at a line job . As a team operation I averaged over 100 k in revenue per quarter and in two years averaged 2.67 for all miles including deadhead . Miss those 11 k dollar checks for a single week ha ha . Maybe when the kids are grown out . Get a straight truck with a big sleeper and drive around playing blackjack and cruising for hookers. It has been nice to see my daughter graduate and not worry where I was going to be on that date . In the end just a personal decision for me

Not sure about my tires yet but in Missouri I didn't pay any sales tax on the parts and labor for the repairs done to my truck. I'm pretty sure they told me no tax on the tires as well though.

Well for tire stories...... Sitting at Youngstown Kenworth under a load. Had a near by tire shop change out two drive tires ( they only carry two of each style) yesterday on my break. When they set the bottle jack jack it was tuching my rear rear differential. And what happens? A leak happens! The bottle jack penetrated the differential. So they call a tow truck to put me here, and I had the tow company bring my trailer over here to keep it from being unattended. Sounds like I'm going to be down for a week. Lost two loads I had after this delivery. And don't know at this time if this load needs covered yet. On a side note the tire shop is paying for the repair and tow job. But still!

Why did they put the bottle jack on the differential? They need to compensate you on more ways than one.....
